In the previous article, we have learned about the privacy settings for Instagram accounts including removing photo tags, blocking users, blocking tags, limiting hashtag ... However, if you want a real Instagram account Privacy, please turn your page completely into Private Account.
When a private Instagram account, if a stranger opens your Profile, they will not see the full information or any images, videos except the account name and a message saying " This is a private account " . Here are the steps to transfer your Instagram account from public (default) to private. Instructions are done on the iPhone, the Instagram version for Android is similar.
Set up a private Instagram account
- On the Instagram app, access your Profile page by clicking the Profile icon in the bottom right of the menu.
- Search for the gear icon in the upper right corner of Profile and tap to access the settings.
- Under the Account section , in the bottom half of the screen, you will see the Private Account option with the On / Off button next to it. Touch to turn on privacy mode (switch from gray to blue).
So you have successfully set up the Instagram profile to be private. Note that there is no step to save changes, the Private status will be activated immediately. As a Private Account , only users who are currently following you and approved people will be able to view your Instagram sharing.
