You need to set the IP address, network DNS for TV because:
- Each network needs an IP address, your TV will not be able to connect to the network without IP.
- Entering the correct IP, DNS is one of the ways to fix the error that TV cannot access the network.
Steps to set up IP and network DNS for Sony Internet TV
Step 1. First, press the HOME button on the remote, at Home interface select System setting, then select Setup. In the Setup menu, select Network and then select Network Setup, then select Set up network connection.
Step 2. The TV will display a message to select the Easy or Expert network setup method. Here we need to set up IP and DNS for TV, so you should choose Expert type.
Next, the TV will display a message to select the type of network you want to connect to is wired or wifi. Here, WebTech360 will catch the wifi, so it will select the Wi-Fi setting, then select Scan to have the TV scan for available networks. After the TV shows the list of networks, select the wifi you want to connect to, enter the password (if any), then select Finish.
Step 3. After connecting to the network, select the IP Address to proceed with IP and DNS settings for the TV.
+ If you want to leave the IP mode automatically: At the IP address setting interface, select Automatic. Then the TV will display a message about setting the TV to be a proxy server, you can choose Yes or no.
+ If you want to manually set the IP: In the IP address setting interface, choose Manual. Then just enter the IP address, the subnet mask, the default Gateaway, the primary DNS and the secondary DNS for the network. Once finished, click OK on the remote to save. Then the TV will show a message about setting the TV to be a proxy server, you can choose Yes or no.
After the steps of IP setting, DNS TV will display the message of successful internet connection, select Accept.
