Introducing EVKey

Vietnamese percussion software EVKey is released by a Vietnamese programmer, Mr. Lam Quang Minh.

EVKey is built on the open source of the Unikey percussion and released completely free of charge. Thanks to multiple versions for multiple operating systems from Windows (Win 10, Window 8, Win 7, Win XP, ...) and Mac OS X, the software is widely used.

EVKey is a software that supports text editing in Vietnamese on computers.

2. How to download and install the EVKey software on Mac / Windows computers

2.1 How to download and install the EVKey software on a Mac computer

Step 1 : Download file HERE > Select version as shown below.

Step 2 : Extract the downloaded file> Copy the EVKey file.

Step 3 : Go to Applications > Paste copied file > Open EVKey file > EVKey screen pops up, select Access Accessibility .

Step 4 : The Security & Privacy window appears> Select the unlock icon Click the lock to make changes .

Step 5 : Enter the password of the computer.

Step 6 : In the window of Security & Privacy, choose EVKey > In the setup window of EVKey> Select Try Again .

2.2 How to download and install the EVKey software on a Windows machine

Step 1 : Download file HERE . Select version as shown below.

- According to the advice of the publisher you should choose to download the Installer for the stable run of EVKey. Only use the direct version (Portable) if you do not have an Administrator / Administrator account to install.

- Use 32bit version for computers with 4G RAM or less .

- Use 64bit version for computers with 4G RAM or higher .

Step 2 : Extract the installation file> Open the file and install> Select Next .

Step 3 : Continue to select Next .

Step 4 : Select Install .

Step 5 : Click Finish .

After completing the above steps, you have successfully installed the software. Below is the interface of EVKey.

3. How to use the software EVKey

3.1 How to use the EVKey software

- Type the main letter first, type the accent bar after to avoid removing the accent in the wrong position.

- When typing Vietnamese, upper and lower case status depends on the state of SHIFT and CAPS LOCK keys .

- With the 1-byte charset (TCVN 3, BK HCM1, VISCII, VPS), you must use a capital font to get accented capital letters. With lower case fonts, you can only type unsigned uppercase letters.

- When typing Vietnamese, you can use the control panel of the program EVKey to turn off the function of removing accents at the end of words.

3.2 Some common errors encountered when using EVKey

- Error typing numbers into words

How to fix: In the right corner of the screen, select VIE icon > Edit to ENG .

- Error typing Vietnamese on Chrome

How to fix: Select Edit hint sign (Browsers, Excel, ..) in EVKey.
