In 1884, GMT officially applied to the whole world and the International Longitude Conference set up GMT with 24 time zones, corresponding to 24 meridians.
GMT is an analog or a quartz watch , with 2 different time zones viewable. In addition to the hour, minute, and second hands like classic analog clocks, the GMT clock also has a GMT hand that displays the time in a 24-hour fashion.

The watch with the GMT ring inside the dial (or the GMT Inner Ring) has a central GMT hand and a 24 hour dial in the glass, to use the GMT function, you need to rotate a special crown. (not the usual time knob) for adjustment.
To set the GMT time, you must be aware of the time zones in different cities.
As with the GMT Inner Ring, the watch with an outer GMT ring has a central GMT hand and a 24 hour dial on the outside of the bezel is called the bezel. You rotate the bezel to see the time in another time zone.
A watch with a 24-city GMT ring also has a central GMT hand, and a 24 city dial (also known as the World Time Ring) equates to 24 GMT time zones on the inside of the watch. In some GMT models, there are 24 cities and 24 hours respectively.
To adjust this dial, you need to use the crown to the city landmark for which you want to see the time, no need to remember the time zone of that city. This is more convenient than GMT watches with bezel ring and GMT watches with GMT dial inside.

After knowing the names, symbols and differences from the GMT time zone of the places, you start to follow the steps below:
Step 1: Check and adjust the Benzel dial so that the white arrow on the bezel points to the number 12 (number 12 of the dial inside the dial) as shown.
The GMT time hand (red hand with white triangle tip) will now indicate the local time you are in (the region you are in).
Example: You are in Vietnam, the arrow on the Bezel dial is correct at 12, clock hand (white hand) is only 4:11 PM and GMT hand (red hand with white triangle tip) indicates. in the 16-17 range of the bezel, the minute hand (in local time) is 11 i.e. 16 hours 11 minutes . And you want to know the time in the Brazilian capital RIO DE JANEIRO , please follow these steps.
Step 2: Then, based on the GMT Time Zone Watch Sheet , determine the local time zone you want to check which is the difference from the GMT time zone column value . Based on the GMT Time Zone Tracking Table in RIO DE JANEIRO city , the Difference from GMT time zone has value of -3 .
Step 3: The local GMT time zone you want to check = the local GMT time + the Difference from the GMT time zone you specified in the step above. After determining the local GMT time zone you want to check, rotate the Bezel to that number of hours.
Time zone capital RIO DE JANEIRO = 16 hours 11 minutes + (-3) hours = 13 hours 11 minutes . So the GMT time in the RIO DE JANEIRO capital area is 13 hours 11 minutes i.e. 1:11 pm. After determining the GMT time zone of RIO DE JANEIRO , adjust the bezel so that the GMT hand (red needle with white triangle tip) points to 13 of the bezel (as shown in the photo).
