2. Select the Startup tab or More Details if you don’t see the tab.
   
3. Find and right-click on Spotify.
   
4. Choose Disable to stop the automatic launch of Spotify.
   
5. If all else fails, go to file location C:\Users\MyUserName\AppData\Roaming\Spotify.
   
6. Right-click on SpotifyStartupTask.exe, then choose Properties.
   
7. Click the Security tab.
   
8. Go to Advanced and select Disable inheritance from the drop-down menu.
   
9. Confirm by selecting Remove All inherited permissions from this object.
   
10. Repeat steps 5-9 with SpotifyWebHelper.exe.

Do the above process at your own risk, though. Taking away permissions means that Spotify can’t overwrite or read the files when you update. It may stop auto-launching on startup but could destabilize the app in other ways.
