First, turn the steam control knob to the "No steam" position, and set the temperature to Max.
Next, fill the water tank to the maximum of the Max level, then turn on your iron and unplug it when the light comes on. You hold the iron above the sink and activate the Calc Clean button. Then, you shake the iron back and forth to make the water boil, steam and dirt escaping from the vent.
Shake the iron until the water tank runs out of water, then plug in the power plug and move the iron over a soft cloth to clean the soleplate.
