Although cryptocurrency has become a popular way to handle financial transactions online, the ins and outs of using it can still be rather confusing. Knowing how to send BNB to Metamask wallets, for example, isn’t as straightforward as it may seem. There are numerous locations that you can transfer BNB currency from, so each transaction may require a different setup.
In this article, we’ll show you the steps on transferring Binance coin currencies wherever they may be and send them to your Metamask wallet.
How to Send BNB From Trust Wallet to Metamask
Transferring BNB from the Trust Wallet to Metamask will require a bit of setup on your part. For one, you need to swap BNB to BNB Smart Chain on your trust wallet first before you can even send it to Metamask. Metamask itself needs to be set up to accept Smart Chain, otherwise you may encounter errors during the exchange.
The process to do this is as follows:
Connect Metamask to Binance Smart Chain
Metamask is configured to accept Ethereum by default. To configure it to accept BNB Smart Chain, complete these steps:
- If you don’t have Metamask installed, you can get the program from the Metamask Download page. Once installed, click on Create a Wallet.
- Make sure to make a Seed Phrase that you can remember, write it down, then save it somewhere safe. This is your backup in case the device you installed Metamask on is damaged or lost. If you’re locked out of your account, you won’t be able to access it without this Seed Phrase.
- With Metamask now set up, tap on your profile icon in the upper right corner of the page.
- Tap on Settings at the bottom of the menu.
- On the left menu, tap or click on Networks.
- Click on Add Network in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Here, you’ll need to manually enter the Binance Smart Chain network information. There are two networks available for Smart Chain, Testnet, and Mainnet. You’ll want to use Mainnet as your primary BNB Smart Chain network, but you can create both if you wish. The parameters you need to enter for each network are as follows:
Mainnet
Network Name: Smart Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
Testnet
Network Name: Smart Chain - Testnet
New RPC URL: https://data-seed-prebsc-1-s1.binance.org:8545/
ChainID: 97
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://testnet.bscscan.com
- Once you’re done, your Metamask is now ready to accept BNB Smart Chain currency.
Swap BNB to BNB Smart Chain in your Trust Wallet
You can’t transfer BNB from your Trust Wallet to Metamask directly; you’ll need to swap it to BNB Smart Chain currency first. But don’t worry, the exchange is 1:1, so there shouldn’t be any loss of currency. This can be done by following these steps:
- Open your Trust Wallet app. If you don’t have it installed, you can download it from the Trust Wallet Page.
- Under Tokens on the Trust Wallet front page, find the BNB icon, then tap on it.
- Tap on the Swap icon on the upper portion of the screen.
- On the popup menu, tap on Swap to Smart Chain.
- Tap on the space to the left of the BNB icon to bring up the numerical keypad.
- Enter the amount of BNB that you’d like to swap.
- Once done, tap on Swap. Do note that if you have exactly 1 BNB, typing 1 BNB to Swap may result in a message saying that you don’t have enough currency to pay fees. If this happens, enter a number like 0.99 or 0.95. Fees fluctuate to match demand and can be anywhere from 0 to $5.
