What Do You Need to Transfer Ownership?

Before showing you the exact steps you need to follow to transfer ownership of a Discord server, you should know what tools you need to accomplish it. Now, this transfer can be done via the Windows/Mac desktop app, via the browser, or using an iOS/Android app.

However, the fact that you are a moderator or have a permission-packed role on a server doesn’t automatically mean that you can transfer ownership onto someone else. Privileges don’t make you the server’s owner.

The mobile/tablet Discord app is a good example of this trend. So, whether you’re using an iPad, iPhone, or any Android device, the steps for transferring ownership are the same across the board. In fact, the whole thing is very similar to the previously explained process for macOS/Windows devices.

1. Open the Discord app on your device and log in to your Discord account.
   
2. Select the server to which you want to transfer the ownership from the left-hand list.
   
3. Swipe left to bring up the channel list.
4. At the top of the screen, next to the server’s name, tap the three-dot icon.
   
5. Select “Settings.”
   
6. Scroll down to the “User Management” section and tap “Members.”

What If There Is No Owner?

7. Under “Server Member Count,” select <100 or >100, depending on the server’s current size.
