Well, with the help of the picture and video editing app, Picsart, you can be on your way to creating your very own moving picture.

How to Make a GIF in Picsart on the iPhone

Say that you took a hilarious picture of your dog. Or maybe your cat did something funny, and you had to snap a photo. No matter the reason, knowing how to make a GIF out of an image can make it even funnier.

If you’re an iPhone user, the first thing you need to do is download the Picsart app if you haven’t already done so. The app is free of charge and can be found in the app store on your iPhone.

Users are given the option of subscribing to a Gold account for $48 a year. However, a version with limited functions is also available for free. You’ll be offered a free trial using the Gold standard version when you first download the app.

Once your Picsart app is downloaded and ready to go, follow these steps towards creating your first GIF:

  1. Allow your camera album to synch with the Picsart, then select the picture you wish to edit.

  2. Once your selected photo is open, you’ll notice a host of icons along the bottom. These are your editing tools.

  3. Using the tools given to you, edit the photo as needed and click “Apply.”

  6. On the bottom-right corner, tap on the icon that looks like three pages on top of each other. This will allow you to layer the previous edits you have created. Remember to layer the photos on top of each other in the same order that you made them in for flow.

  7. Once you’ve layered up your photos, tap the recording tool on the top-right of your screen.

  8. Begin to open and close all of your layers in the sidebar in the order you made them.

  9. When finished, tap the recording icon again and hit “Export GIF.” You can then click on the GIF to set the speed.

Once again, you will need to download the Picsart app via your Google Play Store (or any other app store you are using on your Android). Once you’ve done this, the steps are as follows:

  1. After opening the app, choose the picture you wish to edit.

How to Make a GIF in Picsart on a PC

The web browser version of Picsart has all the same features available as mobile app versions. The first thing you’ll need to do is head to the official Picsart website. You can sign in using your Facebook or Gmail details. You will then be asked to start a 7-day free trial if you don’t already have an account with them.

Once you’ve successfully logged in to Picsart, you’ll be able to start creating your GIF. Here’s how:

  1. Click on “New Project.”

  2. From the sidebar on the left-hand side, select a photo you wish to edit. If you log in using your Facebook account, the images should synch automatically.
