7 Cool Places to Find Mobile Wallpapers
Browsing through wallpaper apps and websites is tiring, which is why it's a good idea to find the most unique, creative, and stunning wallpapers by visiting more unusual places. There are no download or registration barriers here - just stunning images worth saving to your phone.
The iPhone Photography Awards have been running since 2007, the same year Apple launched the first iPhone. You'll find a great archive of photos in the winners' photo library.
Many people love browsing this site for wallpapers for two reasons: It has a perfectly sized gallery with plenty of images to browse, but not so many that you get overwhelmed by the decision. Second, the images are conveniently oriented vertically, which is perfect for mobile wallpapers. There’s no better place to find wallpapers than a site that specializes in showcasing mobile photography.
Galaxy image by James Webb Space Telescope on Flickr
The James Webb Space Telescope launched in 2022 and has already delivered some of the most incredible images of the universe we've ever seen. Thanks to its near-infrared camera, the telescope can capture light we humans can never see with our naked eyes.
Over the years, the telescope has captured hundreds of stunning high-resolution images, which have been uploaded to NASA's Flickr account. It's a treasure trove of stunning, mysterious, and inspiring images of galaxies. You'll find plenty of images to keep as wallpaper.

Midjourney website image feed
Midjourney is an AI image generator that people have been using to create outstanding images through creative prompting, which is when you use text to create artwork using AI.
The latest images created by Midjourney users are featured on the Midjourney Feed. On this page, you'll find quirky, imaginative, and wonderful creations, all in high resolution and portrait orientation, perfect for mobile wallpapers.
This is one of my favorite places to find mobile wallpapers because of the variety and awesomeness of the images here! It's also easy to save the images you like and set them as your wallpaper.
Fans of anime and Studio Ghibli's hugely popular films should check out the massive archive of screengrabs the studio has posted on their website. They include some of the studio's biggest titles, like Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo, among many other classics.
Since the site is in Japanese, you might find it easier to browse this Google Drive folder of upgraded Studio Ghibli images that someone has compiled into easy-to-download images.
Even if you've never seen these movies before, you can still appreciate the beautiful scenes created by a studio that won Oscars for its animated films. You'll find plenty of adorable images that would look great as a new wallpaper.
The only downside is that most of the images are in landscape mode, requiring a little editing to use as a phone wallpaper.
Library of Congress free to use and reuse image library
The Library of Congress is one of the coolest sites to find fascinating historical images, many of which would make great wallpapers.
The site's "Free to Use and Reuse" section has a huge collection of online photos, illustrations, and art prints that you can easily download without registering for anything. Most give you the option to download in higher quality.
There are some real gems on this site, some of which are so quirky you might think they were generated by AI.
6. IMPAwards

King Kong movie poster on IMPawards
IMPAwards, short for Internet Movie Poster Awards, is a great website dedicated to movie posters. With its black and neon green color scheme, the site is reminiscent of the classic Internet of yesteryear.
You can search categories beyond just directors and movie titles to include poster designers. Whether you're looking for vintage posters or the latest Hollywood releases, chances are you'll find what you're looking for.
If you really like what you see, there are affiliate links to purchase the poster on Amazon or eBay, but you should have no trouble downloading a copy to use as wallpaper.
Steam offers a number of places worth exploring, including finding new wallpapers. This is another hidden gem for finding great screenshots, artwork, or official images from your favorite video games.
You can search for a game title on the Steam store and browse the image gallery on the product page, or explore the community page for screenshots and fan art submitted by users. There’s nothing like going straight to the source of the game to find awesome wallpapers worth downloading.
With all these options, you no longer have to download and pay for third-party wallpaper apps on the App Store and Play Store.
