How To See A Sent Friend Request In Snapchat
If you’re an avid Snapchat user, you’re probably posting Stories and sending Snaps every day. The more you stay active, the more friends you’ll have. That’s how it works.
Sometimes they add you first, and sometimes you send friend requests to others. But what if you send a friend request to a wrong person? Or you’ve sent it to the right person, but you’ve changed your mind. How to find that friend request and perhaps take it back?
Viewing a Sent Friend Request
Snapchat differs from other social media apps in that there are many different ways you can add friends. Okay, but what about those sent friend requests?
When you send a friend request to someone on Snapchat, they will receive the notification. Your name will show up in their “Added me” section, and from there, they can either accept or ignore your request.
But what to do if you want to take back the friend request? Snapchat doesn’t have a designated section for the friend requests you send as it does for the ones you receive.
But removing a sent friend request is still not complicated. All you need to do is go to their profile and tap the “Add” button again. That’s all you need to do to remove the friend request.
How to Add Friends on Snapchat
Snapchat can be what you want it to be. You can just send Snaps to your closest friends, and post Stories for the selected few. But you can also make it very public and attract many friends from all over the world. Snapchat lest you add friends in several ways.
When you create a profile, you can immediately add people from your phone’s contact list. If they also have a Snapchat account, of course. If they don’t, you can invite them to join you.
Another way to add friends is to search by username. Maybe you’ve met someone offline, and you’ve talked about how much you both love Snapchat. You can ask them for their username and friend them. Here’s how you do it:
Launch Snapchat on your device.
Tap on the magnifying glass icon.
Type your friend’s username or their name.
Select “+Add” and send the friend request.
They will get the notification about your request instantly. And when they follow you back, you can start exchanging funny Snaps and try out filters and lenses.
Quick Add and Mentions
When you’ve been using Snapchat for a while, you might feel like you’ve added all the people you possibly could. It might feel awkward to start adding random strangers, not to mention that it could be dangerous.
The “Quick Add” feature is a list of people Snapchat recommends you add as friends based on your mutual friends. You will see the list in the Search section or when you tap the “Add Friends” option.
You can scroll down the list and select “Add” next to the people you want to befriend. Or select “x” if you don’t want to see a particular recommendation.
Adding friends through Mentions is an excellent way to make more friends on Snapchat. You might see someone mentioned in Story and decide you want to send them a friend request. Swipe up on the Story and then tap “+Add.”
Snapcode
Have you heard about Snapcodes? It’s a super convenient way to add friends, unlock lenses, and find more exciting content on Snapchat. When you create an account, you automatically get your Snapcode.
You can save your Snapcode by tapping on your profile and then selecting “Save Snapcode,” which will send it to your Camera Roll or Gallery. But you can also add a friend on Snapchat that way. Here’s how you do it:
Your friends should open their Snapchat apps and tap on the profile icon.
Use your Snapchat to scan their Snapcode by tapping and holding the screen.
Select “Add Friend.”
It might sound a bit complicated at first, but there’s not much to it. When you’re hanging out with someone, and you want to become friends on Snapchat, scanning the Snapcode is the fastest way to get it done.
Snapchat and Friends
When you send a friend request to the wrong person, you can, luckily, take it back. It’s not something that happens often, that’s for sure, but it does happen. It’s best to be prepared for every possible situation.
