The freezer is the ideal food storage place for every home, or small store. During use, sometimes you will encounter the freezer gets hot and feel confused about whether the refrigerator is damaged or not. So what is the cause of the freezer overheating?
1. Why is the freezer hot?
Users often encounter freezer heat on the sides of the refrigerator and assume that the refrigerator is faulty, but this is not the case. Since the freezer outdoor units are installed on either side of the refrigerator, when the refrigerator is operating, refrigerant will circulate in the pipes on either side and radiate heat to the outside causing the refrigerator to heat up. Therefore, when you buy the cabinet and use it for a while, it is normal to see the heater on the sides.
If you see the sides of the refrigerator, then the compressor is in sleep mode, when the compressor starts again, the refrigerator will gradually heat up on the sides. In addition, in the summer, when the weather is hotter than usual, the compressor will have to work longer to cool it so the refrigerator will be hotter than other times.
Freezers often get hot on the sides due to the heat from the outdoor unit.
2. Some remedies for freezer getting hot
Although it is normal for the freezer to overheat, there are a number of things that users should take note of to minimize overheating:
- Put the refrigerator in a cool place, not be shone by direct sunlight, in order to minimize the situation causing the refrigerator to overheat and heat the indoor unit, which consumes a lot of power.
- Users should take care not to place the freezer in a place near the kitchen or cooking or other heat generating equipment.
- You should not put the refrigerator close to the wall, preferably about 10cm away from the wall or place other objects close to the sides of the refrigerator, so that the refrigerator has a distance from surrounding objects, enough room for the heat of cabinets circulated out.
- In order to avoid the situation where the refrigerator has to operate over capacity to cool the food, leading to a hot refrigerator, users should pay attention not to open the door too many times, not to let hot food into the refrigerator, not to excess food a lot in the cabinet.
- After 2 weeks, you should rest the freezer for about 15-30 minutes by turning the thermostat to OFF. Then, you run the cabinet back to normal.
