Knowing where your saved snaps are on Snapchat can be handy when you can’t find them in your phone’s gallery or when you deleted them a long time ago. Snapchat stores all your saved snaps in its gallery, so even if they disappear from your phone, you can always log in to your Snapchat account, find them there, and re-download them.
In this article, we’ll go through the process of finding your saved snaps on Snapchat. As a bonus, we’ll show you how to view saved snaps from an individual chat.
How to View Saved Snaps in Snapchat on an iPhone
Every time you take a photo via Snapchat and save the photo to your camera roll, it’s automatically saved in your Snapchat Memories. Even if you delete the photo from your gallery, it will still be on Snapchat until you delete it from there as well. Here’s how you can view your saved snaps on your iPhone.
- Launch Snapchat.
- Tap on the photo icon on the left side of the camera button.
Your saved snaps will be organized into four categories: snaps, stories, camera roll, and “my eyes only.” They will also be organized by date, so you can go all the way back to the first saved snaps you ever made.
Note that regular snaps and stories are not the same. Snapchat stories are just like Instagram stories. They’re on your profile for 24 hours. When they expire, only you will be able to view them in the Memories folder.
If you want to view the saved snaps you sent to one specific user (or that they sent to you), you need to go to your friendship profile on Snapchat. Follow the steps below to find out how it’s done.
- Open the Snapchat app on your iPhone.
- Tap on the message icon on the bottom menu.
- Find the friend to whom you sent snaps and tap on their bitmoji. This will take you to your friendship profile.
- Go down to the “Saved in Chat” section on their profile.
- Select the “View All Saved” button.
From this point on, you’ll be able to see all the snaps that were saved in your chat, whether they’re photos or videos. You can open any saved snap and save it to your camera roll. You can also delete them from the chat.
How to View Saved Snaps in Snapchat on an Android Device
If you have an Android device, this is how you can view saved snaps on Snapchat.
- Open Snapchat on your Android.
- Tap on the photo icon next to the camera button.
- Return to the home screen and go to the message icon on the bottom menu.
- Go to a specific chat.
- Tap on the user’s bitmoji on the left side of their name. This will take you to your friendship profile.
- Navigate to “Saved in Chat.”
- Select “View All Saved.”
That’s all there is to it. The reason you should check individual friendship profiles is because you might find saved snaps there that aren’t in your Snapchat Memories. After all, you will only find the snaps you took and/or sent to someone in the Memories folder. If you want to see snaps sent by someone else, you will only be able to find them on friendship profiles.
How to View Saved Snaps in Snapchat on a PC
It’s also possible to use Snapchat on your PC, but it’s slightly more difficult. This is because Snapchat can only be installed on iPhones and Android devices. The only way to do this is with an Android emulator. The most popular one is BlueStacks.
If you do manage to install Snapchat on your PC, this is what you should do to view saved snaps.
- Open Snapchat.
- Click on the photo icon on the menu.
- Go to your saved snaps.
From this point on, you can download them to your computer and delete them from Snapchat.
How to View Saved Snaps in Snapchat on an iPad
Just like with a desktop browser, it’s more challenging to install Snapchat on your iPad. However, it can be done. All you need to do is change the download filters in your iPad’s App Store settings. Once you adjust the filters to “iPhone only,” you’ll be able to download and use Snapchat on your iPad.
Snapchat works like an enlarged version of the iPhone app, so the rest of the process is pretty much the same. Here’s what you need to do to view your saved snaps.
- Launch the app on your iPad.
- Go to the photo icon at the bottom of the screen.
Here, you can browse through all your saved snaps and stories. If you want to download them, this is how it’s done.
- Open the snap.
- Tap on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Select “Export Snap.”
- Swipe the options to the left until you find “Download.”
If you want to view saved snaps sent to you by other Snapchat users, you’ll need to go to your friendship profile, and you’ll find them there.
Keep All Your Snaps in One Place
With its creative filters and fun messaging tools, Snapchat allows you to make great memories for you and your friends. Every time you save a snap to your phone’s gallery, it will be automatically saved on Snapchat as well. Additionally, you can view other people’s snaps that you had saved on your friendship profiles.
